Computer game obsessed mother neglected children and animals September 13, 2010 A British mother who became obsessed with a computer game let her two dogs starve to death and neglected her three children, the Daily Mail reported. It said the 33-year-old Kent woman, who could not be named for legal reasons, had become addicted to a computer game and had begun playing it almost non-stop on the internet for months. Her children - aged nine, 10 and 13 - were reduced to eating cold baked beans straight from the tin with their fingers, the Daily Mail said. They have since been taken into care.
A judge has now banned the mother from keeping animals and accessing the internet. She was sentenced to six months' imprisonment, suspended for two years, and ordered to do 75 hours' unpaid work. Not only were her children neglected, but also her dogs, which were left dead for two months in her dining room.
